A sweet collaboration between a ceramicist and jewellery maker

German artist Franziska Wiedemann is all about colour and retro vibes. A collaboration with ceramist Nela from Mion.Arts seemed the perfect match for Franziska’s Bonbon beaded jewellery collection, inspired by summer vacation shots from the ’60s and ’70s and “all things sweet”.

What was the inspiration for this collection?

The inspiration for this collection was all sorts of fruits, sweets and candy, hence the collection name Bonbon. But I was also drawing inspiration from pictures and the vibes of ’60s and ’70s summer and vacations.

What was it like working with ceramic designer Mion.Arts?

Both Nela (Mion.Arts) and I had never done a collaboration before, so we had to get together via phone and sort out what and how we wanted to do this. Sadly, due to Covid-19, we had to postpone the collection a few times. But we managed to make a wonderful combination of jewellery and ceramic products. Also she is super sweet, so it was a pleasure to work with her!

Who is this collection for?

This collection is for everyone, I would say. Due to it’s retro vibes and the bright colours, it speaks to a wide audience (young and old). I love making bold jewellery and I love confident individuals that want to express themselves through their look. If my jewellery boosts this confidence, then I’m more than happy.
