Casey’s Noosa home has been designed as a space to slow down, connect with nature, and find moments of calm each day.

Hello! Who are you?

Hi! My name is Casey and I’ve lived in Noosa just about my whole life. I absolutely love the beach and anything nature related – growing herb gardens, deeply breathing in the fresh air, sandy toes and grounding myself walking with bare feet in the grass.

Describe your home to us

It’s quite minimal. Definitely not as minimal as I’d like it to be yet, but I enjoy the process of being intentional with what I bring into my home. I love when things are not only pretty, but serve a purpose and are functional, too. My home has muted earthy tones to create a grounding and calming effect.

What is your favourite space in your home?

It’s definitely my bedroom. I’ve recently invested in some high quality bedding so I just feel so comfy and cosy in bed. At night I love to light a candle on my bedside table, with a small bunch of flowers a safe distance away from it, and other things that currently make me happy such as some jewels, crystals or lavender oil. I then sit on my bed and draw a positive guidance card, listen to a guided meditation and/or journal. It’s bliss.

What is your creative space like?

I don’t actually have one specific place that I work at this stage. It varies from the dining table to the coffee table, or outside, depending on the stage of creation I am in. When I’m sanding I love to do it out in nature and sit on the grass. But I do have a beautiful vision board full of quotes and inspiring images with my cupboard full of supplies.

What is your favourite thing about clay making?

The sense of peace it brings. I suffer from severe anxiety so creating helps me to slow down and be in the moment. It also fills me with joy and gratitude to know that other people love what I create out of a lump of clay!

What inspired you to start Stone and Sea Studio?

I have always been a creative person. In the past I’ve made my own clothing and I also style my home and photograph it as a hobby. I make my own paper, too. I decided to try out a new medium and I think what felt right about using clay is the fact that it‘s so grounding because it’s from the earth. That was the very start, and then friends and family began wanting to purchase the things I made. So I created my Etsy store and it has grown from there.
